Kerry Katona says she can't go the gym as people 'stare' at her

Kerry Katona said she can't go to the gym because when she goes to a class, she feels "everyone is staring."

The 41-year-old, from Warrington, said she doesn't feel comfortable working out in front of other people at the gym as "everyone is staring at me because of who I am."

Former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry shared an inspirational six-minute video on her YouTube channel about her fitness journey.

In the clip she shared a home workout with fans but also shared her own battles she has recently been having with her body image.

Kerry, who now lives in Altrincham, said she feels like her legs look like "tree trunks" and she "hates" her body.

The singer said she has been "struggling" but wants to get herself "fit and in shape."

Kerry said: "If you’re anything like me when a new year comes you want a new you, fresh start and new beginnings.

"And I most certainly want to get myself fit and in shape because, as you all know, I’m always complaining."

Wearing training clothes, with her hair tied up in a bun, Kerry was encouraged by her daughter Dylan-George who also participated in the workout.

She added: "Honestly I feel really unhappy with my body. Because I haven't trained that's why I'm unhappy.

"I could be like a size 16 but as long as I'm training I feel good."

As she performed her workout at home Kerry said to her fans, who are also possibly starting their fitness journey, "we've all got to start somewhere."

Kerry said: "If you’re struggling, like I am at the minute with my back, you’re not with a bunch of people where you feel dead embarrassed.

"We’ve all got to start somewhere and I don’t feel comfortable enough to be doing this in a class right now.

"I know when I go to class everyone is staring at me because of who I am."
