Kerry Katona's evil ex George Kay threatened to 'rape' and 'slash up' her mum Sue

Kerry Katona recalls the terrifying moment her ex-husband George Kay threatened to rape and "slash up" her mum during their relationship.

The former Atomic Kitten star has spoken openly about her life with convicted criminal Kay but has now revealed the extent of the abuse she endured during their marriage. Kerry, 42, grew up seeing her mum Sue Katona abused by an ex-partner, Kerry says she "didn't know any different" but was scared during their relationship.

The mother of five recalled the horrific incident where she saw her mum being stabbed by a partner, who later claimed in a vile outburst that he was Freddie Krueger. Speaking to The Mirror, Kerry opened up about one ordeal which has been etched in her mind.

Kerry and George met as teenagers when they were students at Padgate High School in Warrington and were childhood sweethearts. They were reunited in their early 30s and married in 2014, just months after the birth of their daughter Dylan-Jorge.

Reflecting on her abusive ex, George Kay, Kerry emotionally revealed that the criminal was possessive and would be with her constantly. "He said he's going to rape my mum and slash her up," Kerry bravely said before adding she "can't repeat" half the things he threatened her with.

She said: "You'd get scared because he was very much capable of doing it," but despite spending time behind bars for cutting someone's toes off, Kerry admits she was still attracted to the thug.

The ex-singer said it was a "fantasy" for women to want a "bad boy" as they imagined they would be able to change them but she was says knowing George's past made her "want him more".

Kerry went on to say: "George did six years in prison for cutting someone's toes off, kidnap and torture – I was attracted to that. I was attracted to that, because that was the environment I was brought up in, I couldn't think of anything worse now.

"Girls, a lot of women want this bad boy hysteria who they make them their softie and they're the ones who protect them. I don't know, that's what I wanted, I've known George since I was 14, I was never put off by the fact he'd been inside, in fact, it made me want him more."

In her new memoir, Kerry Katona : Whole Again, the former singer went on to explain when she was a victim of George's abuse, she would often apologise.

"When I got a good hiding off George, I would apologise, 'Yeah I'm so sorry', he was like 'It's your fault, you know what you've done, you know what buttons to push'. When he would apologise, it's because he loved me so much, I make him so angry."

She added: "When he did apologise, I had the upper hand, he would do anything for me."

One incident saw Kerry be pushed by George while she was heavily pregnant as she had an electrician in the house installing a new television for her, which saw him see red. However, Kerry and George's family believed he would change once his daughter DJ arrived – this wasn't the case.
