Kerry Katona has revealed that her fiancé, Ryan Mahoney, is going through the process to adopt her youngest child.
The media personality, 42, spoke about Ryan going through the adoption process after her eight-year-old daughter, Dylan-Jorge, revealed she wanted to call him Dad.
Dylan-Jorge's biological father, George Kay, passed away in 2019, with Kerry admitting her daughter was too young to remember him.
Kerry, who married George in September 2014, said the adoption was her daughter's decision.
George and Kerry started dating in 2012, after initially meeting while at school together. The pair bumped into each other in Warrington, going to marry two years later when Dylan-Jorge was five months old.
The couple split in 2015, divorcing two years later in 2017.
George died on July 6, 2019, reportedly from a cocaine overdose. He was 39 years old.
She opened up about her relationship with Ryan and him stepping up to take on a serious role in parenting her children in her OK! magazine column, writing: "Me and Ryan won’t be getting married any time soon, but when we do, it will be a shotgun wedding in Vegas.
"For now, we are going through the adoption papers for Ryan to adopt DJ as I found out she wanted to call him Dad.
"She doesn’t remember her biological father, George, so I think if it’s something she wants to do, then that’s completely up to her."
Kerry previously spoke out about her relationship with Ryan, who she met on dating app Bumble, saying that she initially didn't know if the relationship would last.
She told Closer: "I've been there and done that, declared my love and said to people, 'I'll be with you forever'.
"I don't f***ing know if we're going to last, the difference with me and Ryan is that I don't need him, but I want him.
"I think that's the key to why it works. And he's also really fit!"
Kerry is also mum to Molly, 21 and Lilly-Sue, 20, who she shares with Brian McFadden. She shares Heidi, 16, and Max, 14, with taxi driver ex-husband Mark Croft.
