It was previously reported that under the Single Justice Procedure, it was proved that Katona failed to give information in August 2018 relating to the identification of the driver of a Nissan X-Trail who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence in Ripley.
Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court heard how on March 18, Katona, 42, of Maesbrook, Brook Lane, Alderley Edge, was fined £660. Derbyshire Times also reported that she was ordered to pay a £66 victim surcharge and £85 costs, and her driving record was endorsed with six points.
At today’s hearing (April 25), Katona was due to attend Manchester Magistrates’ Court for an appearance to make a statutory declaration. But she failed to attend and failed to provide an explanation for her non-attendance.
Manchester JPs dismissed her application. It was not made clear what the application was regarding.
Katona was a member of the girl band Atomic Kitten from 1998 but left in 2001. She re-joined the group in 2012, until she left again in 2017.
