Kerry Katona blasts mum-shamers as she lets daughter, 9, wear make up

Kerry Katona has revealed she lets her nine-year-old daughter Dylan-Jorge wear make up as she came to the defence of Katie Price following an attack by mum-shamers this week.

Mum-of-five Kerry, 42, as told how she lets her young daughter play with cosmetics and sees nothing wrong with doing so as she blasted fellow mum Katie’s critics.

The former glamour model sparked a huge debate recently after sharing a photo of daughter Bunny, 8, wearing make-up and pouting for the camera.

Katie, 44, shared the image of the eight-year-old with a towel wrapped around her head, which she was holding in support, while wearing a yellow t-shirt with strawberries scattered across it. Katie captioned the photo: "My stunning Bunny bops," followed by a bunny emoji.

Bunny looked directly into the camera while she pouted but it was the youngster's make-up which really got the conversation going in the comment section. Fans and critics flocked to the comments section air their views, which was divided to say the least.

And now former Atomic Kitten singer has weighed in on the debate, blasting Katie’s mum-shamers as “ridiculous”.

“I think it’s ridiculous that Katie Price has been mum-shamed this week for letting her eight-year-old daughter, Bunny, wear make-up,” she wrote in her OK! Magazine column.

“Young girls love to copy their mums and put make-up on – they’ve been doing it for generations.

“Kids play with make-up and they put it on dolls. Leave Katie alone! DJ puts make-up on and plays with make-up and she’s nine. Katie has done nothing wrong.”

She launched the scathing rant before backtracking slightly as she acknowledged that she does tell her daughters that a natural look is better.

“Having said that, young girls are so insecure these days and feel like they have to use filters and wear lots of make-up, but I do always say to my girls that a natural look is better. We need to stop shaming everyone,” she slammed.

The latest debate over Katie’s parenting came after she said that her eldest daughter Princess, 15, has already made up her mind over cosmetic surgery.

The mum-of-five believes she has successfully managed to turn her daughter Princess off plastic surgery for life after the amount of enhancements she has seen her mum endure during his life.

Katie recently revealed her biggest boob job so far and says she's lost track of the amount of surgery she has had. Princess, though, won't be following in her footsteps.
