Kerry fans torn as Kingdom release 'traditional look' new jersey ahead of 2022 season

Kerry GAA fans are torn over their new jersey after the Kingdom launched a 'traditional look' new shirt.

The county have released the new strip ahead of the 2022 season, which will be available from the Kerry GAA store, with the new design centred around their famous crest.

However, it has some serious classic jerseys to live up to - and not all fans have been convinced after the release today as supporters took to Twitter.

One fan joked it could help them against rivals Cork: "The Jersey is so bad it might hurt Cork players eyes. Solid plan."

Kerry councillor Jackie Healy-Rae added: "Don’t want to be negative about it, but there is a bit of a knock off look about it and the “Kerry Group” is missed on it."

"Lovely, delighted they got rid of the yellow sleeves," a fan noted.

One fan noted that the jersey will be a hit with families as both the Kerry Ladies and Camogie teams will wear the same jersey: "Finally a Kerry jersey for all the whole family with @kerryladiesfoot and @kerrycamogie joining their footballing and hurling brothers".
