Kerala: Two migrant workers die as concrete slab collapses at demolition site in Ernakulam

KOCHI: In a tragic accident, two guest workers, engaged in the demolition of a two-storeyed building in Maradu in Ernakulam, were killed after a large concrete slab of the building collapsed and fell on them on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Sushanth Kumar (38) and Sankar (28), both natives of Odisha.

The incident happened around 11am when the concrete slab, part of the roof they were demolishing, collapsed and both of them got crushed under it. Even though they were taken out of the slab after a strenuous effort by the fire and rescue official and local residents and rushed to the hospital, the doctor later declared them dead due to severe injuries.
