IDUKKI: Power consumption in the state broke its record and reached an all-time record level on Tuesday.
The total power consumption in Kerala on Tuesday was 89.62 million units (mu), as per data from the state load dispatch centre (SLDC), Kalamassery. The earlier all-time high power consumption recorded in a day was on March 19, 2019 at 88.42mu. The state imported 58.12mu power from outside and 30.31mu was generated in the state. The power consumption may touch 90mu soon, said KSEB sources.
“Overuse of air conditioners and fans has resulted in the increase in power consumption in the state. The total power consumption in the state on Monday was 87.51 million units and within one day the consumption of power increased by over 21 lakh units,” said a KSEB source.
