IDUKKI: A youth was shot dead and another seriously injured after a verbal spat over the availability of beef at a roadside eatery turned violent in Moolamattom in Idukki. Kanjar police have arrested Puthenpurakal Philip Martin, 30, a resident of Moolamattam in connection with the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Pattathil Sanal Babu, 34, of Keerithodu, who was working as a conductor in a private bus. He died on the spot. His friend Maliyekal Pradeep Pushkaran, 32, who suffered serious injuries in the firing, has been admitted to the Medical College Hospital, Kolenchery.
