Kerala logs 922 Covid cases; TPR at 3.6%

KOCHI: Kerala reported 922 new cases on Thursday and the test positivity rate (TPR) stands at 3.6%, the lowest TPR since December 27. A total of 25,639 samples were tested during the last 24 hours.

Ernakulam district reported maximum Covid cases with 190, followed by Kottayam (141), Thiruvananthapuram (112), Kozhikode (73), Thrissur (66), Kollam (62), Idukki (60), Malappuram (44), Pathanamthitta (43), Alappuzha (35), Palakkad (35), Wayanad (29), Kannur (25) and Kasaragod (7).

There are currently 21,886 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 21,164 are in quarantine and 722 are under hospital surveillance. A total of 104 people were newly admitted to the hospital.

No deaths have been confirmed in the last 24 hours due to Covid-19. In addition, seven deaths were reported in the previous days due to late receipt of documents and 123 deaths due to appeal by the Centre as per guidelines of Supreme Court. This brings the death toll in the state to 67,138.
