Kerala logs 346 COVID cases

Kerala reported 346 new COVID-19 cases on Monday when 11,939 samples were tested in 24 hours.

As on Monday, there are 3,682 active cases in the State. A total of 471 persons were reported to have recovered from the disease on the day. About 11.2 % of the active cases are currently hospitalised

The total number of patients admitted with moderate or severe COVID-19 in hospitals across the State now stands at 349. New hospital admissions on the day was 54.

Four deaths

On Monday, the State declared four COVID deaths, one of which occurred in the past 24 hours, while three were recent deaths declared only in the past 24 hours. The State added 21 pending COVID deaths to the official list.

In all, the official cumulative COVID-19 case fatality in the State rose to 67,822. Of these, 32,039 (47.2 %) deaths were added after October 2021, following the death reconciliation exercise.

Among districts, Ernakulam reported the highest number of new cases with 76 cases, Thiruvananthapuram 54, Kottayam 40, Thrissur 34, Kollam 29, Kozhikode 28, Pathanamthitta 20, Alappuzha 15, Idukki 15, Kannur 10, Palakkad 10, Malappuram eight, Wayanad six and Kasaragod one case.
