Kerala: BJP takes out march to minister's office in Chengannur

KOTTAYAM: BJP workers took out a march to the office of minister Saji Cherian in Chengannur on Tuesday, protesting against the statement of the minister that terrorist groups were behind the SilverLine protests.

The BJP workers, including women, carried the survey stones which were uprooted from where they were laid by the revenue officials.

Police erected barricades and stopped the march at a distance from the office. The attempt by the protesters to remove the barricades resulted in minor altercation with the police. The protesters also burned the minister in effigy.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case and are conducting a probe into a life threat letter received by the Chengannur SHO Jose Mathew. According to the SHO, the letter was received last week and the probe is on.
