Kenyan President William Ruto emphasized the gravity of Tuesday's events, describing them as a 'critical turning point' in the government's approach to safeguarding national security. The President expressed deep concern over the attack on Kenya's constitutional order, which resulted in loss of lives, destruction of property, and damage to institutions symbolizing the country's sovereignty.

The violent clashes in Nairobi led to the tragic deaths of at least five individuals as police resorted to firing live rounds at demonstrators protesting against a controversial finance bill. The bill, which has triggered widespread public outrage, was not directly addressed by President Ruto in his statement.

President Ruto assured the nation that the government is fully committed to preventing such incidents from occurring in the future, pledging to utilize all available resources towards maintaining national security at any cost. He underscored the government's determination to address grave threats effectively and ensure the safety and stability of the country.
