Kenyan health authorities are tracing passengers and crew who travelled with the country's first confirmed Ebola patient, after the man died in Nairobi days after arriving from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

The case involves the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola, for which there is currently no approved vaccine or specific treatment. The confirmation has prompted heightened vigilance in Kenya as officials work to identify anyone who may have been exposed during the patient's cross-border journey.
