Kenya has confirmed a second Ebola case in a 39-year-old man who was already in quarantine as a close family member of the country's first patient, the Ministry of Health said on October 14. He developed fever, fatigue, and joint pain on October 13, and two laboratories confirmed the infection, The Kenya Times reported.
Kenya has now recorded two confirmed cases and one death. The ministry said both cases are linked and that there is currently no evidence of wider community transmission. Kenya has not imposed restrictions on travel, trade, or public gatherings.
