Kentucky Poet Laureate and best-selling novelist Silas House will be the featured speaker Thursday at the University of Kentucky Libraries’ annual Edward F. Prichard Lecture. The event begins at 5 p.m. at UK’s William T. Young Library. House said he’ll discuss his most recent novel, “Lark Ascending” – and more.
“I'll especially focus on the way that I carried myself through the years of writing that novel about turning to other art forms, such as painting, photography, film, music.”
House said he always enjoys speaking to new and aspiring writers and will share a tip about what he calls the biggest part of his creative process -- going for a walk.
“The best advice I ever, you know, have to give is just to tell people what works for me, but to remind them that that might not work for them, and that they have to, you know, find their own sort of forms of ceremony and process that work out for them.”
Thursday’s event is free and open to the public.
