Nine air force troops were tragically killed in a horror Black Hawk helicopter crash in Kentucky last night, an army official has confirmed.
The two HH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, part of the 101st Airborne Division, crashed around 10pm local time (3am BST) on Wednesday in Trigg County, Kentucky, during a routine training mission flying a "multi-ship formation under night vision goggles."
And now an Army official has confirmed to reporters that nine service members who were all on board the two helicopters were killed in the crash at Fort Campbell military base, in what has been described as a "truly tragic loss".
