Rangers striker Kemar Roofe is on 'extensive shortlist of attacking options' at Sheffield Wednesday, according to reports.
The forward was linked to League One side Derby County on a shock loan deal earlier this month and now their third tier rivals have reportedly entered the fray. It's reported that an official approach hasn't been made by anyone for the Ibrox striker's services but Wednesday are keen on a move.
That said, a transfer at this stage is rated as 'unlikely' by Yorkshire Live because 'his wages could be a potential stumbling block.' Rangers currently have Alfredo Morelos, Antonio Colak and Fashion Sakala to call upon through the middle. Sheffield Wednesday legend Carlton Palmer reckons that interest in Roofe is real and it would suit everybody involved. He told FLW: “I think it would be a good fit for both parties. He’s well down the pecking order at Rangers, didn’t play a lot last season and picked up a few injuries.

"He knows him personally. I think it would be a good fit; I think Wednesday need that option. I still think they need that third striker who could possibly get them anywhere between 15 and 20 goals in a season.”
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men begin their season away at Livingston as they look to reclaim Premiership glory.
