Kemar Roofe is set to make his return to Rangers action when they line up against Dundee in the Premier Sports Cup.
The Jamaican international hasn’t played for the Light Blues since the end of last season as he battled injury but recent photos have shown him back in the thick of training with manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side.
It’s been a bruising week of criticism at Ibrox after a 7-1 loss to Liverpool in the Champions League and a 2-1 Premiership success over Motherwell did little to quell the noise. But their quest to reach Hampden will be aided by the return of Roofe, who will rival Antonio Colak and Alfredo Morelos for a starting slot. Another boost will come in the form of Alex Lowry, who will play for the B team after his injury troubles at the start of this season.

He said: “Lowry is playing today with the B-Team to give him minutes, he is close to a return to play with the first-team.
“Roofe is in the squad for tomorrow, he is ready for minutes which we will try to give him.
“We will rotate the squad tomorrow, we need to find a balance in the load for the players with a small squad at the moment with injuries. We need to be smart.
