Rangers striker Kemar Roofe is a loan target for English League One club Derby County, according to reports.
The Jamaican international joined Rangers in 2020 from Anderlecht but his time at Ibrox has been disrupted by niggling injuries. He has still featured a healthy 72 times though over the two seasons he's been in Glasgow, netting 34 times, 16 of which came last season. Roofe has often been viewed as behind Alfredo Morelos in the striker food-chain in Govan and now League One club Derby are lining up a swoop.
They are looking to rebuild following administration and have already made 11 summer signings after losing key players like Tom Lawrence, who has gone to Rangers. The Sunday Mirror reports that Derby are 'weighing up' a loan move for the 29-year-old and are 'considering' whether or not to launch a bid. Already this summer, Light Blues boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst has lost versatile attacker Joe Aribo to Southampton.
He's set to lose another key man at the other end as defender Calvin Bassey nears a switch to Dutch champions Ajax.
It's started to get busy in terms of incomings though too, with Lawrence amongst five new arrivals that also include Antonio Colak, John Souttar, Rabbi Matondo and Malik Tillman.
