The Philadelphia 76ers pulled out one of the most improbable playoff wins in recent memory. With a 46-point night, Tyrese Maxey snatched victory from the jaws of defeat and spoiled the Knicks’ dreams of closing out the series. However, Kelly Oubre Jr. might have dropped the wildest one-liner to describe what it’s like to pull out that gritty win.
Kelly Oubre Jr. missed a shootaround Tuesday ahead of the Sixers’ matchup with the Knicks due to illness. However, shortly before tip-off, he was listed as probable and ultimately gave it a go. Philadelphia needed everything that Oubre could give.
In a game that went into overtime because of a sick Tyrese Maxey logo 3-point shot, Oubre gutted it out and played 39 minutes while still technically ill. How did that feel? Kelly says he felt like “dog water” afterward. No, really. He actually said that.
Here’s what Oubre shared with the media:
“I feel like dog water right now, but even dogs drink it. I feel good. I’ve just been drinking a lot of water.”
