Kelly Clarkson's 'Pretty Woman' Shopping Row Takes a Bizarre Twist as Store Says Singing Bird She Wanted 'Isn't for Sale'

The disagreement concerns both what was available to buy and how Clarkson says her enquiry was handled (Credit: YouTube/Screenshot/ Entertainment Tonight)

Kelly Clarkson's shopping dispute with Brooklyn store Art of Play has drawn an unusual explanation: the business says she asked to buy Molly, a mechanical singing and dancing bird permanently attached to its wall. The shop said the one-of-a-kind automaton plays a role in its magic shows and 'isn't for sale'.

The statement explains the store's position on the item's availability but does not establish exactly how the enquiry was handled. Clarkson had said an employee made her feel she could not afford the merchandise, while the business acknowledged that her description would resonate with anyone who had felt judged in a shop.
