Kelly Brook has admitted she finds the interest in her body 'fascinating' and tends to ignore other people's comments about her weight.
The Heart London radio presenter, 42, say she's paid 'very little attention' to commentary regarding her physique over the years as she doesn't look in the mirror and scrutinise herself.
Kelly - who is believed to be engaged to beau Jeremy Parisi - also claims she may not 'been a not very nice person to be around' during stages in her life when she was 'really skinny', and prefers these days to focus on being a 'nice person' and the best version of herself.
The Masked Dancer star was speaking exclusively to the Mirror when she discussed her body image and relationship with dieting, as she celebrates her 1000th day of healthy weight maintenance following a two stone weight loss on the SlimFast 3.2.1. Plan.
Since rising to fame as one of Britain's best-loved models in the nineties, Kelly has gone on to excel in other areas of the entertainment industry - including stints presenting The Big Breakfast and the original celebrity version of Love Island in 2005, alongside starring in major American TV shows like Smallville and NBC sitcom One Big Happy.
These days Kelly is kept busy on the airwaves six days a week co-presenting the Heart London drive show with Jason King and Feel Good Weekend show on Saturdays - a job she says 'really suits' her during our recent chat.
No matter what she does career-wise, thanks to her famous curves and enviable figure Kelly's body is often a topic of conversation.
But how does she handle strangers being interested in her weight and dress size?
"I mean, to be honest, I’ve paid it very little attention [over the years] because it’s just my body that I wake up with every day and I don’t look in the mirror and scrutinise myself," Kelly told us last week.
"I’ve always found it fascinating when people comment if I've lost weight, or put on weight, because it’s probably the first time I’ve acknowledged it when someone says it to me.
"It always baffles me when others have so much to say about other people’s bodies. I think it says more about their own relationship with their own body."
Kelly went on to explain how her weight isn't her main priority in her life and reflected on how she may not have been the best version of herself when sporting a skinner frame.
"I mean, my priority day-to-day is being a nice, good person, working and trying to be the best version of myself in all capacities," the star mused.
"In the past, I’ve been a not very nice person to be around, and really skinny, and other times I’ve been a bit chubbier and been a nice person to be around."
Laughing, she added: "The key is to be a nice person and have a nice body at the same time! I need to make sure it all needs to work!"
Kelly - who has launched a gourmet guide to gorgeous, guilt-free dining with SlimFast - is currently in a good routine with her diet, after previously gaining a few extra pounds during the first lockdown in 2020.
"I think once I went back to work [after lockdown] and got back into my routine, that’s been pretty helpful in terms of trying to get back to how we used to be living, but I do feel we’re still reeling from the trauma from what we’ve all been through and life hasn’t 100% back to normal," she confessed when discussing her favourite Fakeaway SlimFast meals.
"But I feel like, yeah, I feel like I’ve got my routine back and that’s kind of nice."
Over recent weeks it's been reported that Kelly is set to walk down to aisle later this year and tie the knot with her partner of seven-years, Jeremy Parisi.
The stunning star - who sports a diamond on her ring finger - is yet to confirm or deny the rumours she's engaged, and the topic of marriage was off the table during our recent chat.
However, as Kelly discussed her love of cooking and her healthy takes on 'naughty' food, her Italian-born beau's home country's cuisine got several mentions throughout our interview.
She admitted if she could make any food calorie-free it "would have to be Italian gelato", saying: "I’m such a fan of lovely ice cream and where I work at Heart we’ve got a gelato shop opposite, so on a really, really hot day I will pop over there and get everyone a gelato which is my favourite."
And she went on to confess if she could choose her last meal on Earth, Italy would be where she'd head to in order to enjoy one last slap-up dish.
"It would have to be in Rome and it would be the most amazing pasta from Pierluigi - perhaps spaghetti or something," Kelly replied when presented with the tough question. "Pierluigi in Rome is one of my favourites."
