Kellie Harrington has said that sitting down to write her book with Roddy Doyle was a "rollercoaster of emotion".
She thanked the top Dublin author for helping her get her reflections onto paper and said she could not think of a better person for the job. The Olympic champion was thrilled to have a hard copy of 'Kellie Harrington' in her hands with the highly anticipated book hitting shelves on 27 October.
Kellie said: "This came this morning and I'm really excited to have it in my hands, a hardback copy of my book. It was such an experience sitting down with Roddy and talking about my life story from the beginning of my life up until now.

"There were plenty of tears shed but we had a lot of laughs and I genuinely couldn't think of a better person to talk about my life story with and to get it to paper other than Roddy Doyle.
"He's a fantastic person and I'm truly blessed to have him write my book. I want to say thanks to everyone who already has pre-ordered the book. For anyone who hasn't and would like to get one, I will leave a link below."
She added in her Tweet: "It was a rollercoaster of emotion sitting down with Roddy and talking about everything from past to present."
People congratulated the gold medallist from Portland Row on her latest achievement. One person said: "Well done! Writing a book is such an amazing achievement & your story inspires so many others. Can’t wait to get our hands on a copy!!"
