Kelis has reacted to speculation about her personal life on social media following rumours that she is romantically involved with Bill Murray this week.
It was reported this week that the singer, 43 - best known for her song Milkshake - and the actor, 72 - whose films include Ghostbusters - have been "getting close for a while".
The speculation has attracted much attention and Kelis has been asked about it in the comments section of a recent post on Instagram /
She was seen enjoying herself on holiday in the post, which included a series of photos of her at a beach. She wrote in the accompanying caption: "I'm a beach bum".
One person reacted by seemingly suggesting she's riding on Bill's coat-tails, saying: "You ain't no beach bum... U a BB each bummy lol. Bill got u by here riding his wave lol media is destroying ya'll."
Kelis replied: "Lol yeah maybe for now everyone's dumb and will believe anything but the best part is we are both blessed, rich and happy. So who's really laughing. Now that's funny".
The Grammy Award nominee also responded to another fan who brought up the romance rumours about her and Bill.
They commented: "Ma'am would you care to address these Bill Murray allegations?!? Cuz damn! What he doing with all that?!?"
Kelis replied: "lol no babe. I wouldn't bother at all".
And when one person wrote a comment about Kelis, including speculating that her and Bill "are not dating" and are "probably friends," she reacted with a heart emoji.
Romance rumours about the two celebrities began circulating earlier this week, with a source having told the Sun that Kelis and Bill have been "getting close for a while".
They are said to have initially met stateside, though it's been claimed that the pair were meeting up whilst both in London recently. The source said: "They've clearly hit it off."
It's been suggested that they have a "common bond" between them due to reportedly having both had "relatively recent bereavements". This included Kelis being widowed last year when her husband Mike Mora passed away.
"Whatever it is that has brought them together, and however unlikely it seems, they are both single and are having fun despite the fairly big age gap," the source added.
