Kelce brothers agree Bill Belichick would be frontrunner for any head coaching role

If the New England Patriots make the decision to part ways with coach Bill Belichick at the end of the season, both Travis and Jason Kelce agree every team with a coaching vacancy would be lining up to give him an opportunity.

Belichick is the man responsible for building the Patriots dynasty, which is arguably the greatest dynasty in all of sports. There have been questions regarding some of his decisions as a de facto general manager, but as a coach, he is still one of the best in the NFL.

“People are saying that Bill Belichick might be the frontrunner for the head coaching role [for the Los Angeles Chargers]. Yeah, no [expletive],” said Jason Kelce on the “New Heights” podcast. “Bill Belichick is going to be the frontrunner for any head coaching role. I mean, what are we talking about here, guys? If he is available, I think everybody is going to want this guy.”

Travis Kelce nodded along as Jason continued to talk up the Patriots coach.

If the Patriots ultimately decide to move on, they’d better have a great succession plan in place. Nothing would be worse than moving on, choosing the wrong replacement and watching Belichick find success elsewhere.
