Keith Lemon has risked reigniting a decades-long feud with Craig David after he told the singer to move on from complaining about his Bo Selecta impersonation.
Comedian Keith, whose real name is Leigh Francis, had previously apologised after he was branded a "bully" and a "racist" by the Seven Days singer, but the words weren't accepted.
Craig, 41, claimed he thought Keith was "insincere" in his apology, but now the comic, 49, has told him to "stop talking about it" if he wants to move on from the past.
The Celebrity Juice host performed a number of sketches during his popular Bo Selecta show, in which he portrayed the character Avid Merrion, who was a stalker obsessed with celebrities and doing impressions.
While fans lapped up the show at the time, which included impressions of Craig David, two decades later the singer is still seething at his inclusion.
Keith revealed he thought the pair had buried the hatchet in 2014 after they both attended Fearne Cotton's wedding. He admitted the pair "hugged it out" and he thought "everything was nice".
However, Craig has since blasted him, saying he "normalised bullying" and "ruined his life".
In response to the criticism, Keith told the Sun: "Most people are happy with their portrayal on Bo’ Selecta!. Apart from someone we know who wasn’t.
"The only way it’s ever going to go away from him, if he feels people are going on about it, is to stop talking about it.'
He continued: "It’s ages ago, isn’t it? It is, 20 years ago. I wish he wasn’t upset."
Keith's initial apology came in 2020. He apologised to Craig, Mel B and Trisha Goddard for the way he caricatured black celebrities.
He tearfully said at the time: "I want to say sorry for any upset I caused whether I was Michael Jackson, Craig David or Trisha Goddard... all people who I am a big fan of.
"I guess we're all on a learning journey."
Following his apology, a spokesperson for Channel 4 told the Mirror: "We support Leigh in his decision to reflect on Bo Selecta in light of recent events and we've agreed with him to remove the show from the All 4 archive."
