Keith Lemon has revealed that he spoke to his pal Peter Andre before he interviewed his ex-wife, Katie Price on his ITV show.
The Celebrity Juice host welcomed the former glamour model onto Shopping with Keith Lemon, where he picked up the mum-of-five and took her shopping and they spoke about various personal topics such as her cosmetic surgeries.
Keith’s unusual interview show has led many celebrity guests to really open up and start hard hitting conversations such as when Paddy McGuiness went onto the show and spoke in detail about his children’s autism.
Keith said that all the guests have been “awesome”, but Katie especially "surprised" him as she showcased her “fun side" and they had really honest conversations.
“We’ve all got our thoughts about Katie Price,” Keith told Metro.
"And what we think about Katie Price but she was really nice and really trying to show that she had a fun side."
He added: “Because anything negative, if you keep chatting about it, it’s always going to be there, just let it go, let it go, but she’s always open about it and talking about who said what about her, but I can’t deny she was fun.”
However, before she appeared on the show, Keith got in touch with his friend and Katie’s ex-Peter to let him know that she would be on the show.
He explained the awkward scenario: “I’m friends with Peter Andre as well, so it was a bit awkward, and I said to Katie ‘You do know I’m friends with Peter,’ and she said yeah.
“And I said the same to Peter Andre when I spoke to him, and he said, ‘Don’t worry about it I know you’ve got to do your job,’ and yeah she was really interesting.”
Keith went on to say that Katie “always” has “some scandal around her” and appeared to be good fun, which is why he invited her on the show in the first place.
“She was fun that’s what stuck out to us, it was nice to see her, because she’s always bogged down with grief, there’s always some scandal around her. But yeah, she’s fun!” He continued.
Katie and the Mysterious Girl singer began dating after their time on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in 2004.
The couple welcomed two children together Junior, now 17 and Princess, 15, but split after five years together in 2009.
After the interview on the ITV reality show, Keith admitted that his social media was flooded with hateful comments about Katie.
He said it reminded him that people “haven’t learnt” or kept up the ‘Be Kind movement’ after his former co-star Caroline Flack’s death.
“I just thought still online people haven’t learnt, and I don’t think they ever will learn,” Keith reflected.
“When Caroline Flack passed away and the Be Kind movement happened which I think lasted for all of two weeks, people just don’t seem to care what they say about people online.
“I always liken it to road rage, people say all sorts behind a steering wheel but they wouldn’t get on the street, and it’s the same with online people.”
He labelled social media as “crazy” and suggested that the world would change – it seems for the better – if everyone came off it.
“The whole mentality of online is crazy,” Keith continued, “And it would do good as some sort of charity thing if we all came off it for a week and just saw how the world changes.”
