Wales will name their squad for the Six Nations with hard-running Ospreys centre Keiran Williams heading the list of uncapped players hoping for a call.
While George North and Nick Tompkins appear odds-on to be named in Warren Gatland’s midfield pool, Owen Wakin, Johnny Williams and Willis Halaholo haven’t been playing because of injuries. It has left the New Zealander with a decision to make.
He could fall back on Scarlets captain and veteran Jonathan Davies, a player who has never let him down, with his other option being whether to look to a fresh generation of midfield players.

The uncapped Williams is likely to be at the top of that list, with the pocket-battleship from Glynneath banging in a number of exceptional performances, including strong efforts against Montpellier in France and a man-of-the-match showing against Leinster in Swansea.
His ability to boss the gainline was key to the away win over the French champions and Williams also caught the eye against the Scarlets and Cardiff.
Joe Roberts and Mason Grady are also likely to have been under consideration by Gatland. The New Zealander announces his panel on Tuesday.
