Nearly 1,000 workers at Mount Nittany Medical Center walked out at 7 a.m. Monday in the first strike at the State College hospital in more than two decades. For patients in Centre County, the practical question is narrow and immediate: should you show up tomorrow?
The health system's answer is yes. Mount Nittany Health says that if you have a scheduled appointment, procedure or treatment, "please plan to keep it unless your care team contacts you directly." The hospital, emergency department, physician practices and outpatient clinics are all operating, according to the system.
