A kebab shop owner who threatened to slash his wife's face in a violent outburst after being accused of cheating has been jailed for 23 months. Huseyin Erdogan, 54, also locked his partner in the basement and threatened to take a hit man out on her in an abusive rampage after she accused him of adultery, reports the Liverpool Echo.
The incident occurred in April 1 this year, when the 54-year-old was confronted by his wife, Samara, at the Istanbul Grill in Warrington. Liverpool Crown Court heard yesterday from Peter Wilson, prosecuting, that the victim told her husband that she believed he was having an affair.
Upon hearing the accusations, Erdogan, shouted at his partner: "you are a stupid w***e" before slapping her in the face, which caused bleeding to her ear. The business owner then grabbed a skewer and began attempting to slash the victim with it, pushing her down into the basement whilst he continued to wield the weapon.
