Kaye Adams sprung a huge surprise on co-star Sunetra Sarker during Friday's Loose Women, promoting emotional scenes in the studio, as the actress celebrated her 50th birthday.
Taking over from Charlene White, Jane Moore and Coleen Nolan, who all had a turn at hosting the ITV lunchtime show this week, Kaye was back at the head of the panel for the final episode of the week, alongside Sunetra and co-stars Katie Piper and Linda Robson. Kaye divulged at the very start of proceedings that former Brookside and No Angels star Sunetra was turning 50, although Sunetra didn't seem overly keen for make a big deal of her milestone coming of age.
The majority of Friday's Loose Women went to schedule, with discussions on discrimination against single mothers and a hilarious segment where Bods of a Feather legend Linda attempted to walk in heels for the first time in decades. but Kaye wasn't going to let Sunetra's 50th pass without any fanfare and, as camera cut back to the studio after the final ad break, she sprung a huge surprise on Sunetra, when the Ackley Bridge star was suddenly surrounding by old photos of herself on screens and 5-0 balloons behind her.

Sunetra looked totally stunned with what came next as a montage of video messages from people she's worked with over the years, including the Ackley Bridge cast and former Brookside co-star Alex Fletcher. Loose Women colleagues like Denise Welch, Janet Street-Porter and Brenda Edwards also appeared, with Brenda rounding off the video with a pitch perfect rendition of Happy Birthday in her honour.
And the surprise didn't end there was Sunetra either as, an even bigger secret had been kept from her - the fact that her mother had been hiding backstage, with her walking out onto set to leave daughter Sunetra in a state of shock as she exclaimed: "You can never keep anything secret!"
