While we've been paying plenty of attention to Kawasaki's development of Corleo, the robot horse, it's important to note that this isn't Team Green's first foray into multi-legged robots. Now, clearly, Kawasaki Robotics exists, and has done so for a long time. Kawasaki Heavy Industries is a massive company that pursues many different types of technological development, and things like motorcycles and powersports equipment are only part of the whole.
What you may or may not have been aware is that while one team has been working on Corleo, another has been hard at work on a bipedal humanoid robot called Kaleido. More specifically, this project has existed in one form or another since 2015. That puts it significantly behind the Honda Asimo project in terms of start dates; at the same time, the Asimo project was retired in 2022, while the Kaleido project is now in its ninth iteration as of 2026.
