Katy Perry may find herself coming back down to earth with a thud after a number of celebrities tore into her for taking part in the Blue Origin mission, which they branded “gluttonous” and “planet destroying”.

The popstar, 40, joined five other women for the first female-only mission into space in more than six decades on Monday, flying through space for several minutes before returning to Earth.
