Katy Perry seemingly took a dig at her ex-husband Russell Brand during her appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast.
In a preview clip, the pop star mentioned that she's “no longer attracted to narcissists”.
“Anyone that is constantly changing the goalpost or pulling the rug out from you emotionally, not it,” she shared.
“Anyone that says that they know you better than you know yourself. Someone that just won't help.”
Perry and Brand were married for just 14 months before their relationship ended abruptly in December 2011 when the comedian informed her via text message that he wanted a divorce.
After their split, Brand publicly criticised Perry's lifestyle, calling it "vapid" and "vacuous" in his 2015 documentary BRAND: A Second Coming.
Reflecting on his past, he admitted: “I’m an egotist, I’m a f***ing narcissist; but I’m your narcissist."
However, he later claimed he had undergone significant personal growth, acknowledging the mistakes he made during their brief marriage.
In 2017, Brand expressed a more respectful approach: "I don't compare my relationships now to previous ones out of respect for my current wife [Laura Gallacher] and to Katy Perry.
“I think I'm an easier person to be with now. I'm also in a very different situation. I'm dependent on my wife. In relationships, there is always going to be a level of dependency.
“But I try not to project my problems onto other people and perhaps I've not always been like that.”
In October 2023, Brand was hit with serious allegations from several women, including accusations of rape and sexual assault.
Four women came forward with claims, though Brand has strongly denied any wrongdoing, stating that he has evidence to refute the accusations.
Perry, who was once married to Brand, has not publicly commented on the allegations.
Beyond her relationship with the comic, she has been romantically linked to figures like Travis McCoy and Diplo. She now shares a four-year-old daughter, Daisy, with her fiancé, Orlando Bloom.
