KATSEYE's Yoonchae has taken her makeup routine to Vogue. In a new installment of the magazine's Beauty Secrets series, published Oct. 5, the 18-year-old singer works through her everyday skin care and makeup on camera and explains how her approach changed after she left Seoul for the United States.
Her most telling detail comes last. Yoonchae finishes her off-duty face with aegyo sal, the Korean technique of defining the small pocket of fullness beneath each eye, which she creates with brown eyeshadow. She keeps it for her private life. On stage, she told Vogue, she leaves the step out because it makes her look cuter than the group's image calls for. "Katseye is not a cute concept," she said.
