Katie Taylor's opponent Amanda Serrano shows off considerable facial injuries after battle

Amanda Serrano has shown off her facial injuries after being beaten by Katie Taylor in their superfight on Sunday morning.

The Bray native retained her undisputed lightweight title in a belter of a boxing fight in Madison Square Garden in front of nearly 20,000 fans who packed into the New York venue.

Ireland's golden girl took her professional record to 21-0 at a sold out Madison Square Garden in the early hours of Sunday morning after overcoming the Puerto Rican in the toughest fight of her life.

In the final round, both fighters traded heavy shots, with Taylor being busted open thanks to a bloody nose, and Serrano being swollen under the eyes.

And now the Puerto Rican has showed off the extent of her injuries in a video on her social media pages.

In a video thanking her fans for the support, Amanda can be seen speaking to the camera with a mighty bruise on her right eye.

The top of her head also shows signs of major damage, presumably from a number of jabs and hooks from the undefeated Taylor.

Amanda captioned the video: "Hey my ppl I didn’t get the decision but I think I fought a great fight. Congratulations to @KatieTaylor who promised me we would rock the house. I’m happy we made Womens boxing look great tonight.
Now I go & start spending some of this money lol."

That's a reference to the $1,000,000+ payday both fighters got as a result of the sell out in the Garden.

Taylor, 35, looked to be in huge trouble in the fifth round when she couldn't get out of the corner as Serrano battered her.

But she came back into the fight, which she was in control of up until that moment, and took the later rounds to have her arm raised in victory.

And now she wants to do it all again, but is desperate for the bout to take place on Irish soil.

She explained: "We all want to see the best vs the best. Yeah, absolutely, a rematch would be absolutely phenomenal."
