Boxing coach Pete Taylor and long-time girlfriend Karen Brown have tied the knot in a low-key wedding on the Spanish island of Majorca.
Pictures have emerged of Pete, 58, and Karen, 32, getting married while friends watched in a small ceremony last week. Pete, the father of two-time world champion Katie, split from his first wife Bridget in 2016, leading to a number of years of little contact with his beloved daughter.
Pete, who survived a horrific shooting incident in 2018, has now remarried - with pictures showing him and Karen at a low-key ceremony in a popular Spanish resort in recent days.

One shows the beaming couple standing at the altar as they say their vows - with Karen dressed in a beautiful white dress as she holds hands with Pete, who is dressed in a green shirt and white pants. The pair kept the wedding affair relatively secret – but some pals have taken to social media to wish them well.
Guest Paul Mullen posted a picture of the wedded pair and said: “Blessed to witness the marriage of Karen and Pete. “Amazing wedding. Amazing week. Thanks a million and best of luck to the happy couple.”
Pete Taylor and Karen Brown did not respond to our request for comment before this article was published. Their wedding comes after Pete’s legendary boxing hero daughter Katie previously told how the break-up between her father and mother Bridget in 2016 affected her.
“I would describe that whole year as ‘turmoil’, there was a lot of turmoil within our family relationships and it is no secret at this stage that myself and my dad parted ways throughout that year and my whole training regime was turned upside down,” she said.
Pete, who was always by his daughter’s side, was suddenly no longer so - and it would be until 2019 before the pair were pictured together again. He previously told the Paddy Holohan No Shame podcast how Katie told him she would not be in his corner if he split from her mother.
“She [Katie] has good morals,” he said. “She said ‘if you’ve split up with my mother, then I don’t want you in my corner.’ She knew what the outcome would be.
“She knew that she’d be missing me in the corner but she still had the morals to go ahead and do that. You’ve got to respect that. She was reared good.
“There’s not many people who’d risk losing a European, World and Olympic title by not having your father as a coach. She backed her ma ...although it’s hurtful for me but I’ve still got to take my hat off to her.”
The pair’s wedding comes after years of turmoil for the boxing coach, with him surviving a serious shooting incident at Bray Boxing Club in 2018. His friend Bobby Messett, 50, was gunned down while Pete suffered serious arm injuries that took nearly two years to recover from.
