Katie Taylor had big Jake Paul concern when he started working with Amanda Serrano

Katie Taylor once feared she would fight Amanda Serrano on a show headlined by Jake Paul when he began working as the Puerto Rican's promoter.

The Youtuber-turned-boxer has provided plenty of entertainment in the build-up to Saturday night's fight and Taylor has praised him for his role in making the bout, but she admits she had concerns when she first heard of his involvement with Serrano.

She said: "I'm glad that he's involved right now to actually get this fight over the line.

"Originally I was thinking 'I hope I'm not on the undercard of a Jake Paul fight'. That would be an awful, awful shame. 'I can't believe I'm fighting Amanda Serrano on a Jake Paul undercard'.

"But obviously here we are. We're headlining and Jake's been an absolute gentleman over the last few months as well. I can't say anything bad about him."

Paul has made a $1million bet with Taylor's promoter Eddie Hearn ahead of the fight and Taylor admits she has been aware of him for the last number of years.

"I guess I first became aware of Jake Paul when he had his first fight a couple of years ago," said Taylor.

The champion added that she should put the word 'fight' in air quotes before saying: "That's my idea of trash talking, that's it over!

"That's when I became aware of Jake Paul and then he started working with Amanda and here we are. I know he's been working with Amanda for the last couple of fights now and obviously myself and Amanda were in talks for a couple of years now."
