On the night when Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano made boxing history at Madison Square Garden, it was only fitting that a relative of boxing's 'Greatest' was there to congratulate the winner for adding another chapter to the New York venue's glorious association with the sport.
Laila Ali gave the Wicklow native a warm embrace away from the hubbub of a sold-out MSG.
It was yet another reminder of how much this fight resonated with the American boxing public as well as back home.
There was a similarly lovely moment in the changing room between Katie and her mam Bridget which was also captured by photographers.
The 35-year-old understandably now wants to take some time away from the public spotlight to rest and recuperate with her family.
Speaking after the fight, Katie said: "I'm just looking forward to not getting punched in the face for a few weeks [laughs]. I'm just going to take it easy with the family.
"They're all over here so, tomorrow, I'm going to relax with them for the day. It was an amazing night for myself and for my family. We're just absolutely over the moon. The biggest night of my career."
Her Puerto Rican opponent also reflected on what a momentous occasion it was for women's boxing as they became the first women to headline a Pay-Per-View at MSG.
She tweeted: "So proud of the performance we put. We didn’t come to play, we came to entertain & show why we are the Best in the Game.
"Congratulations to @KatieTaylor I said it before couldn’t have asked for a better dance partner. Thank you Everyone."
Given the gripping nature of their 10-round battle, talk of a rematch has already gained momentum in the days since they duked it out.
While both sides initially made it sound like Croke Park was the leading candidate to host what would be a professional debut at home for Taylor, her promoter Eddie Hearn noticeably kept his options open while appearing on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani.
The Matchroom chief did talk up what an amazing occasion a sold-out Croker would be but acknowledged that "there’s been some political problems within boxing, we haven’t done shows there, there hasn’t been a lot of boxing, there’s a lot of aggravation and hoops to jump through."
He also added: “On the flip side, MSG come back to me and said ‘guys, you have to bring the rematch back here'. We’ve had a couple of calls from the Middle East.
"There’s a big movement from the Middle East right now. We did Joshua and Ruiz in Saudi Arabia, we’re talking to a number of other countries as well.”
