- His father facilitated the call from Al Awir prison, where Andrews claimed he had been detained since 13 May on suspicion of espionage.
- Price had publicly raised the alarm about Andrews' disappearance on 16 May, expressing fears of kidnapping after he went missing following an attempt to cross the Dubai border.
- Andrews is expected to be released on Monday, 1 June, after paying a four-figure fine, with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office confirming support for his family.
