Katie Price: What Harvey Did Next : BBC receives over 100 complaints regarding latest documentary

Katie Price's latest documentary has been heavily criticised, with viewers threatening to boycott the BBC over its airing. On March 7, Katie Price: What Harvey Did Next aired on BBC One, and followed Harvey Price, the 19-year-old son of Katie, as he started college in Gloucestershire.

43-year-old Katie was reportedly paid to feature in the show, which was commissioned prior to her drink-driving accident in September. According to The Sun, a new fortnightly report reveals that BBC viewers did not react well to the documentary.

The report revealed that viewers believed Katie was 'an inappropriate subject for a documentary'. Meanwhile, other viewers raised concerns for Harvey's welfare, as he is a vulnerable young adult.

Between February 28 and March 13, a total of 103 complaints were made about the documentary to the broadcasting giant. During the show, Katie addressed her crash, and accepted full responsibility.

The former glamour model said: "There’s no one to blame for me getting in that car but myself. But if people could see, that night, what was going on in my head . . . I wasn’t telling myself not to get in the car.

"I just thought, ‘I need to go’. So I’m lucky nothing happened." Katie's sister, Sophie, mentioned how her sister's mental health had been poor around the time of her crash. Sophie said: "When I saw the police there, I thought, ‘She’s really done it this time’.

"She’s like the cat with nine lives but I looked and thought, ‘This is going to be a nightmare’. It was a shock. It was absolutely awful. She could have killed someone or killed herself."

The main focus of the documentary was Harvey, who is the son of Katie and former professional footballer Dwight Yorke. Last year, Harvey headed miles away from home to start his new chapter at the National Star Centre in Gloucestershire.

Aside from the complaints, viewers were taken on an emotional journey with Harvey as he settled into college without his mum. The programme also showed the challenges faced by Harvey's new carers, who had to work out the best way of dealing with Harvey's challenging behaviours.
