Katie Price shows off Mucky Mansion renovations ahead of second series airing

Katie Price is gearing up to show the world her newly renovated home in the new series of Mucky Mansion. The former glamour model is determined to get her life back on track following a tough few years for the star, between her drink driving crash and bankruptcy hearings.

And one of the first things she wants to get ticked off is the renovations at her West Sussex home, promptly nicknamed Mucky Mansion. In 2020, the mansion fell into disrepair after intruders ransacked the property and left taps running, causing water damage throughout the home. The ground floor ceiling collapsed from the flood - causing thousands of pounds of damage to her newly done-up kitchen.

The second series of Mucky Mansion will start on Tuesday, February 15, as Katie takes viewers through the process of turning the decrepit building around into her family home. The OnlyFans model purchased the mansion from former cabinet office minister Francis Maude for £1.3million in 2014.

Speaking to The Mirror, Katie opened up about the process of repairing Mucky Mansion into the forever family home of her dreams. “I found it hard to come to the house. I had bad memories of it all,” she said.

“I was introduced to someone who wanted to turn it into a wedding venue, but it turned out to be a hoax and he ended up fly-tipping all of my land and made my house derelict inside. And then it got burgled and someone turned the shower on, so it leaked and my ceiling collapsed. It looked like a building site, so that’s where it got the name Mucky Mansion.”

Katie has been open and honest about her mental health problems over the years, as she's dealt with a number of issues in the public eye. After her stint in the Priory in 2019, she told the publication she finally felt ready to deal with the damage.

“I got to a point where I could come back to the house but to move into it, I had to change everything,” she said. “I wanted to bring love back into the house and that’s what I’ve done. The past is the past and the house has got a different feel to it now. There is no bad feeling here anymore. It really does feel like a home.”

During the first series of the show, viewers saw Katie’s mum Amy, 71, and sister, Sophie, 33, design her garden room. Amy, who was diagnosed with terminal lung condition idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2017, said she wanted it to be a room where her family could remember her.

Despite initially not being keen on the idea, Katie added it's not become one of her favourites. “I have to admit, when I have visitors, they always say they love that room. I do like it because as soon as I walk in, I instantly think of my mum and my sister,” she explained.

This comes after the reality star recently dodged a bankruptcy court hearing for a fourth time over her £3.2million debt repayment. The 44-year-old was set to appear in court on February 9 to answer questions on her bankruptcy but the hearing was vacated and rescheduled for April 12.
