Katie Price has denied wearing real fur once again after a clothing brand used her picture to promote their products.
The glamour model was pictured wrapping herself in the floor length fur in an Instagram post for a company called Lanes of Fur London.
In the caption for the photo – posted less than 24 hours ago – the company say the garment is part of their ‘2023 collection’.
On their website the same item is on sale for £270 and says it is made of real fox fur and wool.
But Katie’s team have hit back saying the picture used is old and was reposted without her permission.
A spokesperson for Katie told The Mirror: “This photo is an old image from March 2022. We’ve reached out to the brand to either remove the image or update the post caption stating this.”
Katie – who declares herself an ‘animal lover’ and has had pet cats, dogs and horses over the years - has been spotted in real fur before.
In March 2022, the 44-year-old came under fire for donning a pair of £145 fur slippers allegedly made of fox and mink.
Bizarrely she showed off her new fluffy pink shoes during a romantic getaway to Thailand with on-off fiancé Carl Woods.
Posting a video to her personal Instagram, Katie penned: "Obsessed have them in all colours. Thankyou @icequeendesign your footwear is amazing".
Katie also attached a link to the brand's website which quickly revealed that the slipper-style shoes, worth £145, are made of 'both fox and mink fur'.
Her latest pics will come as a huge disappointment to Katie’s fans after she promised she was done with wearing fur in 2021.
She was forced to issue a grovelling apology after facing an immense backlash for wearing a hooded cardigan believed to be lined with fox fur.
At the time, Katie posted a video to her fans and said: "I want to say a massive apology to everyone.
“Over the years I have accumulated a number of fur clothing which now I DO NOT WEAR.
"I have done my research and I have seen the cruelty that goes into making these items. I have been so ignorant of the matter, but now I see that this is wrong," she insisted.
In the clip Katie also revealed that she would be selling her real fur items on Depop.
She added: "I am an animal lover, and I did a post ages ago for this company which was fur and, yeah, rightly I got so much s**t for it.
“They made me realise I am actually an animal lover and why do I need to wear real fur when there's really good fake furs out there?"
The Mirror has reached out to Katie's representatives for comment on this story.
Claire Bass, senior director of campaigns and public affairs at Humane Society UK: “It’s simply not credible to be an ‘animal lover’ and wear fur. Any influencer trivialising the suffering of animals for the fur trade is doing a huge disservice to their fans.
"Every fur scarf, bobble hat and hood represents an animal tormented for its whole life in a tiny wire cage, before being electrocuted, gassed or beaten to death. There’s absolutely nothing glamorous about cruelty, and the tiny number of brands and influencers still promoting fur look extremely out of touch.”
