Katie Price faces backlash as she considers ditching some of her 12 pets

Katie Price has come under fire after revealing she is considering reducing the number of pets she owns.

The former glamour model, 47, made the comments in a recent YouTube vlog, where she spoke candidly about her lifestyle as she continues to split her time between the UK and Dubai following her marriage to self-proclaimed “businessman” Lee Andrews earlier this year.

Price, who currently has 12 animals at home, admitted she may need to “re-evaluate” things as her circumstances change.

“I’ve got to sort out what I’m going to do with the animals,” she said. “Lee’s in Dubai and I’m going to keep going back and forth.

“I’ve got 12 animals in the house. I know I like things excessive — big cars, big boobs, big bum, lots of animals.

“I think I need to re-evaluate my life a little bit… do I need so many animals?”

She went on to acknowledge the level of care required, adding: “You’ve got to be there all the time for them… everything I do is excessive, we all know that.”

The comments prompted a wave of criticism online, with viewers questioning her commitment to her pets.

“Poor animals,” one wrote, while another said: “You shouldn’t be allowed to have pets.” Others urged her to prioritise the animals’ welfare, with some referencing her past controversies.

Price has faced repeated criticism from animal welfare groups over the years following the deaths of several pets, including dogs and a horse, many of which were involved in road incidents near her former Sussex home.

Despite the backlash, she has consistently defended herself, previously insisting the incidents were down to “circumstances out of [her] hands” and not a lack of care.

“I love animals, I love nurturing,” she said in an earlier interview.

Her ownership of pets has remained a contentious issue, with campaigners previously calling for restrictions. In 2024, PETA publicly urged her to stop keeping animals and offered her £5,000 to sign an agreement not to acquire more.

Price has continued to expand her household in recent years, including bringing in new pets despite ongoing criticism.

Her latest remarks suggest she may now be reconsidering that approach as she balances her lifestyle between two countries.
