Katie Price accused of bankruptcy repayment breach as she faces questioning over finances

Katie Price has been accused of a "breach of income payments agreement" in a hearing over her bankruptcy, which took place today.

Katie, 45, didn't attend her bankruptcy hearing remotely today, which took place at specialist insolvency and companies court.

The court was told a public examination over her finances had previously been adjourned, but trustees are seeking a re-listing of the questioning into Katie's finances after the applicant's barrister, Darragh Connell, said Ms Price breached a payment agreement.

Miss Price was not in attendance of the virtual hearing – while a legal representative for the TV star also not present.

During the short virtual hearing, which took place today, discussions of a public examination took place – meaning Katie's affairs, dealings and property are expected to be examined before the court in another hearing. A date for which is yet to be set, but will be listed for the first available date after July 21.

"We are now at the stage were this matter needs to be expeditiously dealt with," Mr Connell told the court.

Judge Paul Greenwood said: "I've looked at the evidence and I understand there has been a breach of the incoming payments agreement that was reached on the 10th April."

He added that it seems "right and indeed inevitable" that he should make the "directions sought" of the "listing" of a one-day public examinations "as soon as the court can accommodate".

A hearing into Katie's bankruptcy had been postponed five times, after it was originally scheduled to take place in June 2022.

Katie previously agreed to pay £12,000 a month through an individual voluntary arrangement but, her creditors claim she has not been sticking to the deal.

A considerable amount of the £3.265m is owed for mortgages secured against her Mucky Mansion in West Sussex.

Bankruptcy trustees will look into the TV personality's sources of income including her Mucky Mansion renovation show on Channel 4, her OnlyFans page and her online business ventures from flogging memorabilia online to her Katie Price Equestrian Range.

A source explained to the Mirror in January: "The court will wish to know where every penny comes from, whether that’s from selling her old clothes on Depop or stripping out of her clothes on OnlyFans. Only then can the court make up its mind about her ability to pay."

She was previously estimated to be worth £45 million at one point in her career, but was declared bankrupt in 2019.

Recently, the mum-of-five hit back at trolls criticising Katie over her bankruptcy during a TikTok Live, where she promoted clothes from the brand JYY London.

After reading a negative comment, she hit back: "I'm bankrupt, yes, but I still own my 2.5million pound house and I'm sat here in the kitchen doing my TikTok to you.

"Never knock someone who is bankrupt, we all can go there but it doesn't mean that it is all bad."

She added: "Yeah, my company went bankrupt and you deal with it don't you. So, don't ever knock anyone because it could happen to you."

Ahead of the hearing in April, Katie jetted off to Thailand the month before and was snapped enjoying her vacation on several occasions, showing off her increased tattoo collection and unveiled a new thong inking during the trip.

Katie was declared bankrupt in 2019. In 2021, she was hit with a repossession order on her mansion over a £500,000 debt – meaning if it is sold, the proceeds must be used to clear what she owes.

When previously asked about her bankruptcy hearing during an appearance on The Jeremy Vine Show, Katie said: "I think you shouldn't be ashamed if you have a bankruptcy because it's for different reasons people go into a bankruptcy. I went through a really tough time in the last few years with my mental health.

"When you go through that, you put things to the side because you can't cope with anything.

"I'm proud that I've come to the other end. It's life isn't it, sometimes you have to face these things but I'm happy and I'm in a good position. It is what it is."

Katie went on to explain the bankruptcy was related to two specific people.

"The bankruptcy is to do with two people in my past, that's what it's about - and you just have to deal with it," she added.
