A 50-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Katie Kenyon, police have announced.
Andrew Burfield, 50, of Todmorden Road, Burnley, is due to appear at Blackburn Magistrates’ Court at 10am on Thursday.
The victim’s family has been informed of the news and are being supported by specially trained officer, the force said.
“Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service detectives from Lancashire’s Force Major Investigation Team have this evening (Wednesday, April 27th) charged a man with the murder of missing mum Katie Kenyon.
“Katie’s family pass on their thanks for all the well-wishing messages but have asked people respect their privacy at this time.”
Ms Kenyon was last seen at 9.30am on April 22. It is believed she travelled in a Ford Transit van which left Burnley heading towards the Bolton-by-Bowland area.
