Katie Holmes' stylist has spoke up to defend her client amid fashion 'faux pas' frenzy reminiscent of a Y2K era.

The actress, 43, saw her outfit mocked in a viral thread on social media after she walked the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball red carpet wearing a short blue top over some wide legged jeans.

She teamed up the two trademark trends of fashion from two decades past with a pair of black trainers.
