Kathryn Thomas revealed she couldn’t run during her pregnancy because she was too scared.
The Operation Transformation host (43), who is mum to three-year-old Ellie, welcomed her second daughter Grace, last October.
But the broadcaster and fitness enthusiast who remained active throughout her pregnancy, even launching her own Bump Fit guide, revealed she reached a huge milestone this week by running her first 5k in a year.
The Carlow native said yesterday: “I’m so bloody delighted. I’ve just done my first non stop 5k in more than 12 months.
“Ahh, I’m just so happy. I don’t give a sh*t about the time, it was long.
“The last couple of weeks with Covid and everything, it has slowed me getting back to it.”
The TV presenter and owner of Pure Results, an all-inclusive residential fitness and wellness retreat, admitted the run was a huge step in her own fitness journey, after struggling with the idea throughout her pregnancies.
“I wasn’t able to run on either of my pregnancies… like I trained all the way through doing resistance and all of that but I just couldn’t mentally get into the running space with bouncing and everything,” she added. “I was just too scared.”
