Kathryn Thomas believes Operation Transformation is still a success because the leaders open up their hearts and their homes in a way not seen on other Irish TV shows.
The reality wellness and health show came under fire last year but it pivoted and reformatted before returning once again in January to huge viewing figures.
Kathryn told RSVP Live: “Operation Transformation has its core audience and it will always have its core audience. It is the time of the year it comes on, it is after Christmas and everybody is getting ready for a new year.

“The show lands because the leaders open up their hearts and their homes in a way that you don’t see a lot of on Irish television.”
Kathryn is always very emotional on Operation Transformation because she gets very close to the leaders and their personal journeys.
She said: “When people apply for Operation Transformation, in many cases they do so at very low points of their lives when they are feeling vulnerable.
“They feel like they need support and they don’t feel like themselves. It is really important that we are there for them as a team. I interview these people and they are opening their hearts and souls. It is very emotional because there is huge honesty with them.
“You become a very tight unit during the eight weeks of the show as you get to know them and their families.
“You see the changes with them and it is never about the changes physically, it is about the changes mentally.”
